All Things ‘Twilight’ to Look Forward to This Year

2010 is another spectacular year to look forward to for “The Twilight Saga” series. Looking back in 2009, the saga met a great year as it debuted with not one but two movies to the delight of avid fans. In a span of one year, the production soared to greater heights gathering up fan base forces from around the globe. This New Year 2010 seems to be shaping up to be another great year for the saga with the incoming events that would surely drive the fan base crazy. Here are the top ten events to in “The Twilight Saga” to look forward to in 2010:

Trailer for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

The trailer for the third installment “Eclipse” is the most anticipated event in “The Twilight Saga” for 2010. Recently the much-awaited movie has released a still of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in a meadow, title art, and their very first promotional poster. Speculations are rising on when and where the first trailer for “Eclipse” would debut. Even director David Slade himself stated he doesn’t know. For the meantime, fans are relying on Slade’s tweets for updates on the movie.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon DVD release with deleted scenes and commentary

This coming spring, the DVD version for “New Moon” will be released across the country with two additional fan treats, deleted scenes and commentary. Similar to the DVD release of “Twilight” last year, “New Moon” would also probably be greeted with release parties across the country with showings from cast members and the director at various venues. Director Chris Weitz confirms that there would be at least 20 minutes of deleted scenes in the DVD plus a special commentary either from the director or even the castmates.

Other films by the cast such as “Remember Me”, “Valentine’s Day”, and “The Runaways”

When fans of the saga followed the movies, they become totally devoted to the main actors playing the roles particularly the major trio Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner. For Pattinson, his recent film “Remember Me” would debut on cinemas on March 12 of 2010. Meanwhile, Lautner has an own spring film of his own, “Valentine’s Day” wherein he co-stars with Taylor Swift as his on-screen love interest due for a February 12 release. Lastly, Stewart’s film with “New Moon” and “Eclipse” co-star Dakota Fanning, “The Runaways” would also hit theaters in 2010 along with her other film “Welcome to the Rileys”. It’s a busy year for the now famous cast of the saga.

Soundtrack for “Eclipse”

Another event to look forward to is the collaboration of artists vying to earn a coveted spot in the upcoming soundtrack of “Eclipse”. If artists display a widespread interest similar to the previous “New Moon” soundtrack then this third installment would definitely be met with a long line of possible contributors over the months. Some artists have already voiced their intentions including the band Muse and the Killers whom Slade has collaborated previously for a music video. A great contender is the band Dead Weather whom Slade has raved about recently in his twitter.

The announcement for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn

Fans are greatly hoping that in the midst of 2010, an official announcement would be released that “Breaking Dawn” would be given a go signal to begin production.

The premiere of “Eclipse”

Before “Eclipse” hits theaters at the end of June, the cast, producers, and director Slade would head on over to Hollywood for the much anticipated worldwide premiere of the movie. Adorning the film’s premiere is a press day, several cast interviews, and some global promotion before the actual premiere day.

Eclipse” is already settled for a June 30th release in the United States. Whether it would be invading IMAX theaters or not, the midnight showings and opening weekend for the film would follow the footsteps of its predecessors with another record-breaking debut for the saga’s third installment.

“The Host” movie

In April of last year, the idea of transitioning Meyer’s first non-Twilight saga novel, “The Host” has emerged with fans highly enthusiastic about the thought. Meyer had already agreed to bring her new novel to life and 2010 would hopefully be the developmental year where the project starts to gain momentum in scripting, casting, or filming.

Once “Breaking Dawn” is officially given the go signal, fans would look forward to the huge casting that would follow for the new characters introduced in the last and fourth installment of the saga. Most likely, an open casting call would ensue but this is yet to be confirmed by a verified source in the future.

Speculations and signs are pointing into the direction that “Breaking Dawn” would most likely start filming in 2010. With “Eclipse” set to release in the halfway point of the year, there is a great possibility to this current rumor.
