Former high school heartthrob Zac Efron continues to heat up the big screen as he has reportedly settled a new deal with Universal to star as the lead in the adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis graphic novel, “Fire”. His attachment to the film slowly transitions the actor from teen roles to more mature roles fitted for his age and image. Aside from serving up for “Fire” on-screen, Efron would also work double duty as executive producer.
The film focuses on the life of a college student who gets inducted into a special CIA project. Later on he learns the purpose of the trainings were to test whether ordinary citizens are capable of becoming successful agents.
Bendis, also an experienced Marvel Comics writer, pens the screenplay himself. Meanwhile hopping on board to produce the film is Neal Moritz.
Efron’s next big screen appearance would be on June for his currently finished project, “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud”.
