‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ in 3D?

The next installment of the “Harry Potter” franchise may be arriving in cinemas in 3D version. Reports have been circulating that distributor for “Harry Potter”, Warner Bros., is seeking to follow in the successful footsteps of “Avatar”. To do so, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”, both part I and part II may be converted into 3D.

The big buzz and hype on 3D films had long been present in the studio since the success of “Avatar”. First talks on the conversion began during the process of shifting Sam Worthington’s next film “Clash of the Titans” in 3D.

The process proved to be much cheaper than the distributor had expected. This helped push the plans of converting the studio’s most famous wizard-franchise’s next installments into 3D as well. Converting a picture into 3D is currently priced at $5 million each. Warner Bros. is hoping to rake back the expenses and more as ticket prices for IMAX 3D theaters has increased recently.

The first part of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” is scheduled to release on November 19 of this year while the second part is set for a July 15, 2011 release.
