Lincoln Lawyer Starring Matthew McConaughey

Tommy Lee Jones is going behind the cameras to direct ‘Lincoln Lawyer’, starring Matthew McConaughey. It is based on the 2005 best seller by Michael Connelly.

Centering on a wheeler-dealer L.A lawyer who operates out of the back of his Lincoln, Jones is in negotiations to direct and co-star in the film. In the movie, the Character lands the case of a lifetime defending a Beverly Hills playboy that has been accused of murder.

Matthew McConaughey is set to play the lawyer. Although the actual character in the book is younger than the actor, the playboy could be played by Jones. Both actors got a big break playing good guys in the legal system; Jones famous role as the federal marshal Samuel Gerard in ‘The Fugitive’, and McConaughey as a defense attorney in ‘A Time to Kill’.

In 2005, Jones directed and played the lead in the Mexico-set crime drama ‘The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada’, making ‘Lincoln Lawyer’ his second directorial outing.

Matthew McConaughey is used to playing the charming, suave role, unlike his character in ‘A Time to Kill’. This movie, however, will take him back to the character he played in ‘A Time to Kill’. The interaction of the two actors could lead to Oscar gold, since Jones’ character could also change things for him, in a more sophisticated way.
