Meet the Parents Sequel Casts a New Focker

The famous Fockers family is expanding with the addition of Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Laura Dern. After the beginning of the series in 2000 with Meet the Parents and continued with Meet the Fockers in 2004, the third installment tentatively titled “Little Fockers” is well on its way. Most reports suspect however that the film won’t be allowed to pursue this title. Universal Pictures and Tribeca Productions have recently signed up the actress to appear in this sequel, accounts the Hollywood Reporter.

Dern will take on the role of headmistress of the elementary school Gaylord and Pam’s kids will be attending. With a set of twins and Stiller’s goofy antics, no doubt they’d set a number of disasters and unforeseen incidents within the school.

Reprising their roles for the film are “Focker” regulars Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Teri Polo, Blythe Danner and Owen Wilson. Director Paul Weitz will attempt to balance and tame the cast of the upcoming sequel set to release on summer of 2010. There are no news yet whether parents Barbra Streisand and Dustin Hoffman will be returning as well. Newcomer Jessica Alba joins the cast as a sexy pharmacist clueing in on a possibly interesting twist in the story.

With the return of the Fockers family and the new additional characters, no doubt an even crazier installment is set out, with the addition of kids and a big-time award-winning headmistress. Little Fockers is set to deliver a hilarious new addition to their series.
