New ‘Highlander’ Movie in the Works

Summit Entertainment has recently hemmed in Justin Lin to direct and Neal H. Moritz to produce a new “Highlander,” targeting the action fantasy series into a movie franchise. Longtime “Highlander” producer Peter Davis is also producing along with Moritz.

However, as exciting as this latest prospect is, Summit haven’t tapped any cast actors or set a start date for production. Obviously, the project also aims to attract “Highlander” followers. The previous Highlander movies and TV series has gained a fanbase spanning over two decades. It will be a thrill to see “Highlander” and its hero workin on that sword again.

The original 1986 film was directed by Russell Mulcahy and starred Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, Clancy Brown and Roxanne Hart. It drawn in four sequels and three TV spinoffs.

With plans to expand on the original “Highlander” world of immortals hunting each other throughout the historical ages, Summit has new ideas but does not move away from the original gist of what “Highlander” is all about. The new motion picture will revolve around on an immortal Scottish swordsman Connor MacLeod, who must brazen out a murderous barbarian who desires for a legendary prize.

Lin will be doing all the work but rest assured that he is to be entrusted with the “Highlander” project. Lin’s credits include “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” and “Better Luck Tomorrow.”

cast Adrian Paul in the part originally played by Connery… cha ching …Extraordinary bulit in fan base without outrageously large role. Original fans will love that this guy is known to favor Sean Connory’s looks and audience appeal.
