‘Protection’ for Clive Owen

‘Protection’ for Clive Owen

The action-thriller film “Protection” was first heard of last year at Cannes with director Simon West and lead actor Paul Walker both attached to helm the feature. Walker would reportedly star in newcomer Brandon Noonan’s screenplay as a disgraced former Special Forces soldier attempting to rescue a judge’s daughter from the grasps of Mexican gangs.

However a recent update from Production Weekly via Twitter confirms that the duo are no longer connected with the film. Replacing them in their roles are director Patrick Alessandrin and actor Clive Owen as lead. Though there is a new confusion with the new production crew involved, the casting of Owen and Alessandrin are right on as the director has just recently wrapped up another action film, “District 13: Ultimatum”. His experience would be a plus factor for “Protection”.

For the meantime, the production start date is still pending.
