Salma Hayek Is The Recipient of the Legion of Honor From French President

People magazine recently reported that the gorgeous looking Salma Hayek will be receiving the Legion of Honor or the Legion d’Honneur in France. Her name was seen on the official list of the French president Nicolas Sarkozy just last Sunday.

The honor was founded by Napolean way back in 1802 and was rendered to various civilians and military personnel. It was clearly pointed out that the honored titled is not exclusively given out to French citizens and is given out to icons of international renown. This just means that her work for ‘Puss in Boots’ has been finally recognized.

The actress is set to receive a medal along with being given the title ‘Knight’ or Chevalier during the ceremony within the coming months. Hayek though has a connection already to the honor since her father in law, Francois Pinault, a businessman carries the title of a Legion Grand Officer.
