Shyamalan teams up with Smith and Overbrook on Sci-Fi Project

We all know that M. Night Shyamalan is not the hottest things right now, especially in the movie scene as his recent works did not really hit the top. We know that a little help over here and a little financing over there may do wonders for the director.

The last few films, except for “The Last Airbender”, of M. Night Shyamalan are disasters compared to his masterpiece, “The Sixth Sense”, which was release in 1999. The “Devil’, which he did not direct but only formulated its story, also did not much scared a lot of audience during its release. Also, his latest project with Bruce Willis, Bradley Cooper and Gwyneth Paltrow has no audience and is quietly shelved.

Well, this must be good news as he is partnering with Will Smith and Overbrook productions in a sci-fi project entitled, “One Thousand A.E.” Smith still has not lost its touch and Overbrook is a blooming production company with several hits and is owned and run by James Lassiter, Ken Stovitz, Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith. The production company has 31 ongoing projects and has a first look deal with Sony.

The script of “One Thousand A.E.” is written by Gary Whitta who wrote “The Book of Eli” and the plot is still under the spell of secrecy. Runors said that the film is going to be used as a vehicle for Jaden Smith. Let us all hope that the Smiths can shower some luck on Shyamalan.
