Some Interesting Trivia from the ‘Muppets’ Movies

One of the most anticipated films this coming fall would be ‘The Muppets’ that will be released by November 23. It is the amazing return of the crazy cast after being absent for about 12 years. The plot revolves around the story of how the show’s fans are trying to save all the muppets from being obscure. In line with the early celebration for such a comeback, here are some of the most interesting trivia nuggets you may have not known about the show.

 

One of the most popular cameos was made by Edgar Bergen who was a famous ventriloquist. He died sometime after he did this scene and hence the movie was dedicated to him. The theme song ‘The Rainbow Connection’ was even nominated in the Oscars in credit of its composers Kenneth Ascher and Paul Williams. This performance done by Kermit the Frog even reached the 25th spot in the singles chart list of Billboard by 1979. Since then, this song has been covered by a lot of artists just like Willie Nelson, Jason Mraz, Weezer, and a lot more.

 

This very scene where Kermit was singing the song with a banjo took about five days to be done. Miss Piggy also had her own memorable trivia for going through a total of 10 costume changes just like a genuine diva that she is. There were also a lot of deleted scenes which include man of the insulting commentaries of Waldorf and Statler.

 

‘The Muppet Christmas Carol’ in 1992 was the very first Muppets film made right after the death of Jim Henson by 1990. It was Steve Whitmire who took his place on performing the duties for Kermit and the rest of the characters made by Henson himself. And just like the rest of its movies, this one is also jampacked with a lot of cameos by various stars like Jack Black, Emily Blunt, Ricky Gervais, and a lot more.
