The plot revolves around the story of how the show’s fans are trying to save all the muppets from being obscure. One of the most popular cameos was made by Edgar Bergen who was a famous ventriloquist. He died sometime after he did this scene and hence the movie was dedicated to him. The theme song ‘The Rainbow Connection’ was even nominated in the Oscars in credit of its composers Kenneth Ascher and Paul Williams. This performance done by Kermit the Frog even reached the 25th spot in the singles chart list of Billboard by 1979. Since then, this song has been covered by a lot of artists just like Willie Nelson, Jason Mraz, Weezer, and a lot more.
This very scene where Kermit was singing the song with a banjo took about five days to be done. Miss Piggy also had her own memorable trivia for going through a total of 10 costume changes just like a genuine diva that she is.
