Spiderman 4 Villians Revealed

Our resident web-spinner may be facing off with a female villain, as Sam Raimi and the rest of the crew have begun the casting process for villains and supporting players of “Spider-Man 4”.

According to Mania, Raimi is seeking female actresses to cast as villain. Actress Rachel McAdams has met up with the producers of the film to star in major role. Allegedly, McAdams of “Wedding Crashers” and “Sherlock Holmes” is a top contender to portray the role of Felicia Hardy, more popularly known as The Black Cat.

Raimi’s take on Spider-man always involves the villains causing trouble for the hero but also creeping into Peter Parker’s personal life. The story of the Black Cat fits well for Raimi’s perspective.

Avid fans would recall the Black Cat as a burglar seeking to free her sick father from prison. When she first encounters Spiderman, she becomes smitten with him to the point of a stalker-level obsession. In later stories, she becomes Peter’s lover, friend and ally as he reciprocates her affection.

From the looks of casting, it seems the new movie will feature two villains. Sources say that male villains are also being cast. However this would disprove the theory that Lizard would be the other villain since his role, Dr. Conners, had been present since movie #2.
