Top Directors for ‘Breaking Dawn’

The Twilight Series by Stephen Meyer has never been put aside even if, for a moment, the stars took a break from filming the movie adaptation of the vampire novels. However, for stars like Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, they may come back to the Kodak Theater much sooner than what is anticipated.

In fact, Summit Entertainment has helmed in three possible list of directors to administer Breaking Dawn, the final chapter in the Twilight Series. Breaking Dawn is assumed that it will be divided into two parts, so there’s something extra for everyone. Some of the names that have been present on the list include Gus Van Sant, a popular favorite among directors because of his dark, gothic vibe. He’s the guy behind Oscar winning films like Milk and has been a two-time nominee. There’s no talk yet whether Van Sant has confirmed that he will be helming the two Breaking Dawn films. Van Sant is the top-nothc director to be considered because of his ability to find something interesting and shift its focus into dark, chilling atmospheres. Hey, it’s a vampire movie after all.

Other directors for inclusion comprises of Bill Condon and Sofia Coppola. Of course, who could forget Condon, screenwriter and director of such films like Dreamgirls and Gods and Monsters? Sofia Coppola’s also a female director that just has that inevitable skill and directing prowess. She has that discipline wherein she returns in smoother forms of directing, which of course, should be important if she were to direct Breaking Dawn.

There top-notch directors are being approached not just for their popularity, but for their talents and tastes. It’s hard to imagine, however, a director who helmed in Dreamgirls or My Own Private Idaho to manage the Volturi. The Breaking Dawn director will be the fourth in the Twilight installment with Catherine Hardwicke for the first film, Chris Weitz for the sequel New Moon and David Slade directing the third film Eclipse which will be shown in theaters June 30, 2010.
