Twilight Breaking Dawn Split in Two?

Twilight Breaking Dawn Split in Two?

The fourth installment in the “Twilight” franchise “Breaking Dawn” might experience the same fate as “Deathly Hallows” if Summit Entertainment and Stephenie Meyer had their way.

Summit has reportedly hired screenwriter for the first three installments, Melissa Rosenberg to finish the franchise. However there are no reports whether she’d make a film or two.

In an interview with MTV News during the release of the last book in 2008, Meyers agrees with the idea saying, “You can’t do ‘Breaking Dawn’ in one movie, you’d have to split it up. I really think they’d have to do five movies.” She adds fans are completely aware of the cliffhanger moment that would separate “Breaking Dawn”.

The third film directed by David Slade “Eclipse” is due for a June 20, 2010 release.

Though this is most likely, there are speculations left hanging in the air. Would Chris Weitz return to shoot “Breaking Dawn”? Recently Weitz had just confirmed his attachment to direct “The Gardener”. Sources say he is expected to announce his decision for the film soon.

Another issue is how the key cast members are only signed up to do four films. If they decide to separate the last installment, this could possibly mean re-opening negotiations for a fifth with whooping eight-figure checks for each. If “Harry Potter” could afford separate films for “Deathly Hallows”, surely the “Twilight” franchise could do so too.
