With regards to the upcoming ‘Superman: Man of Steel’, news are spreading around on who Warner Bros. would choose as director before they finally settle for Zack Snyder, the director for ‘Dawn of the Dead’. There were also rumors that ‘the Fountain’ director Darren Aronofsky was also almost handed the job. He was very excited with the idea too with the original idea for the concept talking about Clark Kent deciding on whether he would take on the responsibility of Superman or not as he travels the world being a journalist.
We are not sure yet if this will be the exact plot for the Superman reboot but for sure, it would be a more modern take on the most popular superhero of all time. This would really allow more space for political views and the Superman who cannot decide if he would step up or stay away to just let people handle their own problems. But when Aronofsky learned that he will not land the job, he started eyeing other projects which include ‘Wolverine 2’ and ‘Tales from the Gangster Squad’.
Here is another interesting thing to note: it was rumored that Snyder was picked for the work because the script was rushed and still in some kind of a mess. And hence, Warner Bros. needed someone who can work with such because they do not have much time left for they have to be able to start the production by 2011. This just better says that Aronofsky is the type of director who would take his time always to make things right with his every film project.
But what do you think? Could he have been a better choice for the upcoming ‘Superman’ film?
