Couples Retreat Movie Review

Starring Vince Vaughn, Malin Akerman, and Jon Favreau, “Couples Retreat” centers on four couples who took a trip a tropical-island resort for a break to enjoy some fun in the sun. One of the couples work on their sinking marriage and the others fail to understand that involvement in the resort’s therapy sessions is obligatory.

Whether the film’s cool cast was specially selected by former swingers Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau or brought together by Universal’s production execs, the crossover concept is a surprising take.

“Couples Retreat” is actually a comedy film which is directed by Peter Billingsley and written by Jon Favreau, Vince Vaughn and Dana Fox. A. R. Rahman, winner of two Oscars at the 81st Academy Awards, has managed the film’s soundtrack. The soundtrack album will be released by Relativity Music Group.

The movie has this sentimental feel about marriages coupled with the realization that everything is not what it’s cracked up to be. There are funny moments, thanks to the good cranked out written script, and the film can elicit giggles and guffaws while touching on sensitive subjects as well.

Surely, romance can be found in the film as well as some drama and tear-jerking moments. The film is rated PG-13 for sexual content and language. Other stars include Kristin Davis, Faizon Love, Kali Hawk, Jason Bateman, and Kristen Bell.
