all this guys talk about knowing about movies they all know nothing at all but at least they have a little of an idea that the movie wasn’t that great…. i know why it wasn’t great it was because the effects were great but it didn’t really make you believe in the escene or the moment of the happening and there was just too much talking leading nowhere absolutily…. and since there was too much talking it made it boring from the begining to where the action took place but that too was ruined because this time the actors didn’t really act the happenings in the backround and etc etc well I liked the ships though they were great!!!!

I don’t really think this movie is good enough. I have seen a lot of movies since i was 10 years old. For almost 20 years movie is just like my favourite toy and for “2012″ i give it a 4 out of 10, why? Let’s spot through the weaknesses. First, it is the same director doing the same theme, three times if i am not mistaken, three. Secondly, the story is rather dull, no emotional touch and the actors and actresses couldn’t cry, what they can do is just showing a ‘fake’ sadness on screen. Thirdly, the effects are ordinary, i mean, why don’t you show a city underwater? or corpses? or maybe an afterlife? Last, two and the half hours, lots of dialogue, this is not a movie based on book or literature, we are not talking about Shakespeare.

Director, if you want to make better movie with better plot, come and see me and i will give you a little hints.

I really want to watch this movie, but my friends are saying that it wasn’t that great. Seems like my kinda movie, so I might just have to watch this

Went to see it todaywith the wife. Came back with my ears ringing after two and a halfhours of almost continuous effects and explosions. I won't go into theplot as there's no much to mention: the earth is heating up from theinside, and it's (of course) happening extremely fast (as in: we havedays instead of decades or centuries) and whole of humankind will soonbe wiped out.

There were a couple of surprises in the plot, which was nice. Also afew completely out of the blue moments of humor, which had the entiretheatre Laughing Out Loud. A nice contrast and relief to the otherwiseconstant suspense and action.

Acting: I certainly wouldn't predict any awards here, but it was allgood and believable. Mostly. Oliver Platt and Danny Glover wereexcellent and touching at times.

Effects department: We all knew this already, it's constantly at theawesome level apart from a few distinct moments of "that looks fake"but believe me, the good moments outshine the little flaws. The physicsmodeling of the effects, the attention to detail, is absolutelyoverwhelming at times. That combined to the sound effects, is all purewin.

The bad: too many close escapes. This has been mentioned here before,and I agree, some of the main cast should have died multiple times. Butthis being Hollywood, that can't happen of course even if that meansbending the laws of _everything_ beyond the point that even the viewerwill see it. I think we could have been happy with a few more secondsor even minutes of escape time in many of the sequences, and itwouldn't have made much difference to the outcome of the movie.

Overall, it's a decent watch. If you're a fan of disaster movies, youwon't want to miss out on this. Highest body count of them all.

The only reason this movie is worth a watch at all is the awesomespecial effects. The acting is poor and over-the-top, the storyline isjust as over the top and unbelievable with numerous 'last chance','last minute' escape scenarios. The film was so long and boring inplaces that people actually left the cinema before the end! Needless tosay the movie was boring enough for me not to want to type it out here.They may have had an okay movie (albeit hugely predictable andover-the-top) had they ended it about 2 hours in *SPOILER* instead ofdragging us through the absurd flight which saw them flying a plane(having only a few hours of practise), narrowly missing disaster onmore than one occasion and (oh my god how lucky…) landing(narrowly… surprise surprise) just a short trip… in the handy truckthat happens to travel past at just the right moment, to theirdestination. Lets not even go into the ships (Arcs) at the end *END OFSPOILER* Save your money, watch the trailer only.
