3:10 to Yuma (2007)
Time waits for one man

Rancher Dan Evans heads into Bisbee to clear up issues concerning the sale of his land when he witnesses the closing events of a stagecoach robbery led by famed outlaw Ben Wade. Shortly thereafter, Wade is captured by the law in Bisbee and Evans finds himself one of the escorts who will take Wade to the 3:10 to Yuma train in Contention for the reward of $200. Evans's effort to take Wade to the station is in part an effort to save his land but also part of an inner battle to determine whether he can be more than just a naive rancher in the eyes of his impetuous and gunslinging son William Evans. The transport to Contention is hazardous and filled with ambushes by Indians, pursuits by Wade's vengeful gang and Wade's own conniving and surreptitious demeanor that makes the ride all the more intense.

This is my first comment here on IMDb, and I just had to write aboutthis movie because I can't really understand why it is so highly ratedby so many. This one really disappointed me.

Yes, the actors Christian Bale and Russel Crowe are magnificent, butthe story has so many logical shortcomings and outlaw Ben Wade's(Crowe) actions at the end of the movie would never happen in real life(even if he had a twisted mind, which he really didn't show). All theshortcomings ruined it for me.

Since I don't want to spoil the movie I can't really comment onspecific episodes, so you will have to make up your own mind about thelogic if you watch it.

I can't recommend "3:10 to Yuma" even though I usually love both Croweand Bale movies. Crowe was excellent in films like Gladiator andAmerican Gangster, Bale was great in Batman Begins and The Prestige, but none of the actors could rescue this movie I'm sad to say.

Let me first start of by saying I'm not a big fan of westerns but I wasimpressed with how much I enjoyed this one mostly due to the greatperformances by the talented cast including Russell Crowe (fromGladiator, Body of Lies, and A Beautiful Mind), Christian Bale (fromAmerican Psycho, Batman Begins, and The Dark Knight), Ben Foster (fromThe Punisher, Hostage, and X-Men 3), and Peter Fonda (from Ulees Goldand Ghost Rider). Director James Mangold the man behind films likeIdentity and Walk The Line did an excellent job of bringing this movieto the big screen. It's one of those rare remakes that turns out to bea terrific western with plenty of action, character development, andspot on performances by the whole cast. Russell Crowe makes for aneffective villain. His character Ben Wade is a man whose seen a lot ofbad things in his life and those experiences are what made him the manhe is an outlaw who's willing to kill to get what he wants. Crowecontinues to establish himself in 3:10 To Yuma as one of Hollywoodsmost talented actors. Christian Bale is equally impressive as the heroDan Evans a rancher who was injured in the Civil War. Bale's Evans is aman desperately looking for a way to support his family and sees hisway of doing just that by joining some lawman to help escort Ben to the3:!0 To Yuma in the city of Contention with Wade's gang hot on theirtrail. With films like The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, and TerminatorSalvation, Christian Bale continues to show why he's one of Hollywoodsbest actors today. Well done. Ben Foster plays Charles one of thecriminals in Ben's gang another man whose probably seen his share ofterrible things as well. Foster does a solid job of the role he doeshave in the movie. Peter Fonda does the best he can with the small rolehe does have in the film as Bryon McElroy a mysterious lawman with aviolent past and the rest of the cast are good in their roles. Therewere however a few flaws like the pacing at times was slow and theending which wasn't that bad but it could've been a little better.Overall 3:10 To Yuma has a good story, interesting characters, greatperformances from the cast, and plenty of action thats even spacedthroughout the whole film that makes it an enjoyable western to watch.
