Good, boring or bad? It's good. Worth your money? If you can spare itfor a ticket, sure. Better than the trailer makes it seem? Yes, oddly.

There isn't much to the script – Guards working at armored truckcompany move vast amounts of cash. Guards see opportunity to retire asmillionaires, one of them is too honest to go along with it all, and awell-laid plan goes to hell.

This could have been a poorly-executed Reservoir Dogs ripoff, but theskill of the cast and the director's ability to make just aboutanything tense pull it out of that realm and put it onto a solidfooting.

This is a decent movie. Although little bit short in time for me, itpacks a lot of action, grit, commonsense and emotions in that timeframe. Matt Dillon and the other main character does a great job inthis movie. The emotions and intensity were convincing and tensethroughout the movie. It is not typical fancy expensive Hollywood CGIaction movie, but it was a very satisfying movie indeed for the price. My evening was great because of this movie. This movie is straighttraditional action movie with great acting, story and directing. Iwould recommend this movie. The character development of the characterswere good and makes you believe that were are actually seeing a realevent taking place. Because this movie I believe was made with cheaperbudget, the acting and quality were much higher.

Everything that can go awry in the contrived crime thriller "Armored"does go awry, and a sturdy seasoned cast, featuring Matt Dillon, JeanReno, Skeet Ulrich, Milo Ventimiglia and Lawrence Fishburne, cannotsalvage this predictable as well as pedestrian crime-doesn't-paymelodrama. High-octane action fans will get restless quickly when theaction settles into one confined setting and ridiculous things happen."Vacancy" director Nimrod Antal and rookie scenarist James V. Simpsonmust have imagined that they had a gritty, surefire, little nail-biterof a suspense saga about two crews of armored truck drivers who attemptto pull off the ultimate heist and make off with as much as $42 millionin cold cash. Unfortunately, the logistics of "Armored" are not onlyimplausible but also the sketchy one-dimensional, cardboard charactersemerge as unsympathetic and idealist. The Eagle Shield Security guardsplan to stash the cash in an abandoned steel plant and make it looklike they were carjacked. Clearly, these dudes are delusional. Theperfect plan masterminded by Mike Cochrane (Matt Dillon of "Old Dogs")where nobody will get hurt blows up in their faces no sooner than theyhave stolen the money. Everybody in the two crews supported Cochranefrom the start. The newbie on the crew–Ty Hackett (Columbus Short of"Cadillac Records")–is harder for Cochrane to win over because he isan ex-Iraq war hero with a graffiti artist brother to raise and twohouse mortgages on his back. It seems that Ty's mother and father diedthe previous year and their mounting medical costs prompted themortgages. When California Child Welfare Services threatens to takeaway his younger brother Jimmy (Andre Kinney), Ty abandons his deepmoral values and joins the crew. Initially, Ty helps his accomplicesunload the loot, but then something devastating happens that makes Tycome to his senses and realize the error of his ways. The lacklusterSimpson screenplay is formulaic from fade-in to fade-out and the filmconcludes abruptly without any closure with regard to the troubled homelife of the hero and his juvenile delinquent brother. Worse, most ofthe action transpires in an abandoned Los Angeles Industrial Park wherethe armored car crews have holed up, so a sense of claustrophobia setsin long before this downbeat 88-minute fiasco finally fades out.Nothing about "Armored" qualifies as either entertaining or exciting.Indeed, you have to wonder whether the size of the paycheck or theduration of the shooting schedule for this Screen Gems release enticedits stars. Skip this lightweight, PG-13, low body count potboiler.
