I can't believe that Disney made this, Walt must be weeping, whereverhe is. The sheer arrogance and privilege of the wealthy characters mademy stomach turn, no human character was capable of evoking sympathy, and the dogs dialog was ten steps less clever than Simpsons cartoon. The dog outfits are not that funny, most dogs hate them for goodreasons, and the waste of money on pets says a lot about the humans whomade this doggy waste. Mexico is a wonderful country, here depictedwith all the realism of a Disney pavilion,no hungry street children toshow how obscene the premise of this "movie" really was. I can onlythink that the favorable reviews are from the directors family members!

Come on everybody, what's wrong with all of you out there!.Don't takethings so seriously.I LOVED this film.It isn't supposed to be a videolesson in Mexican geography,it's supposed to be a fun, lightheartedmovie.True,it's no Gone With the Wind but it does what it sets out todo.My usual type of movie is the vampire or zombie genre-you get thepicture-but occasionally I like to take in a lightweight movie, such asthis one;in fact, one of my all-time favourites is Romy and Michelle'sHigh School Reunion.I have to admit to being a dog-lover,but some ofthe scenes were simply hilarious. The way that Chloe and Delgado wererescued in the mountain lion scene had me laughing out loud andapplauding-it was so funny and unexpected. So,anyone going to see thismovie, please ignore all of the negative comment you have read and justgo with an open mind.I am sure you will enjoy it.The only slightdownside is the performance of Piper Perabo,I just don't GET her, justthe same as she was in Coyote Ugly.Still, she was OK in Imagine Me andYou. Anyway, she probably doesn't GET me either, so that's OK.

I watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua with mild expectations, because thetrailer didn't look that bad and I don't judge (and rate) a moviewithout seeing it, which a lot of people seem to enjoy doing on IMDb.Whilst the movie isn't great in any sense of the word, it's anenjoyable piece of light-hearted fluff which should put a smile onyoung children's faces. I'm 17 myself, and I just didn't find it to bethat bad.

The movie is basically about a Chihuahua named Chloe (Drew Barrymore)who is dog-napped whilst on a vacation in Mexico with her owner Viv's(Jamie Lee Curtis) niece Rachel (Piper Perabo), who is looking afterChloe whilst her aunt Viv is away. Chloe is saved from a viciousdog-fight by another dog named Delgado (Andy Garcia), who takes thejourney home with Chloe, whilst Rachel, a vicious dog 'Diablo' and agroup of crooked villains try to capture Chloe (and her expensivenecklace!).

The acting was good from the cast, both from the live actors and thevoice actors. I'm a fan of Jamie Lee Curtis, Piper Perabo and DrewBarrymore, so it was nice to see all three of them starring in a movietogether. I would have liked to have heard more of Loretta Devine (whodoes a voice in this) though, as she was underused.

The story was decent, cute and light-hearted, it has some good CGI anda few amusing moments. It is nowhere near to being one of the worstmovie ever made or being worthy of only 2 stars on IMDb, so if you aregoing to watch it, ignore the IMDb ratings (which are a joke anyway)and unnecessary hate from people who haven't even seen it. Overall,it's just a kid's movie. Not a great one, but an enjoyable one. Sure,it has it's fair share of flaws, but this is a brains-off,light-hearted piece of entertainment which should deliver if you watchthis expecting that.

    5/10

This movie was fun! for God sake, half of the users rated it 1 becausethey we're expecting this movie was going to be bad but NOT! MyGirlfriend and I watched this film last night and we had fun, thecomedy and drama makes the film wonderful asides from other animalfilms, for me this is not ONLY for kids but also to us adults who lovedogs so much. If you have a dog in your house, you'll realize whatobstacle they run out to, we people never realize and love our guarddog.

all i want to say is don't judge the book by its cover, this movie isGreat!

Hello , I am a 32 year old man and I absolutely liked this movie. Ithas a great sense of humor. I like watching these type of movies(movies which attracts children's attention the most) with my kids.

So this was one of the best children's movies ever. It was excellent. Ilaughed more than six times in this movie.

This movie is rated bad because there are many people who don't likethese type of movies still rated this movie.

I would like to point out that I did not enjoy the trailer. Of coursemy children did. So I still rented this movie. I was very surprisedabout what this movie was about. It was not only idiot-ism (which isfunny) but there were a lot of action and thrills. So to those peoplelike me who did not like the trailer , ignore it and go and watch thismovie.

This movie also points out real life things that we say aboutChihuahuas. That they are tiny , they are always shaking , that we callthem silly names like FIFI etcetera …… but the way this movie makesthem pointed out is very funny.

In the end of the movie there is an important message that I will notsay to let you watch the movie.

The actors were really good and even the voices. It is suitable forpeople of all ages.

So people who like these kind of movies : IGNORE THE RATING AND WATCHBEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA.

I watched this with husband and two granddaughters age, 6 and 13.Everyone really liked it, honestly. We are not particularly happy withchildren's movies in general, but this was great. Much better than theanimated stuff out there now. It is full of action, cute dogs, goodlines. Also, my 35 year old son reluctantly said it was the best dogmovie he had ever seen and watched it all. The use of special effectsthat make the dogs appear to talk were seamless and almost believable, and certainly not distracting. I think this movie is unfairly getting alot of bad rap. Try it for a lighthearted, fun, feel-good movie, youwon't be disappointed.

I watched this film with my partner and was pleasantly surprised. I wasexpecting a lot less and was instead introduced to a fun ride of amovie, that passed the time and provided enjoyment for the duration ofthe movie. I'll be honest I had like most people, very low expectationsfor this movie, but was very surprised. While the film was by no meansperfect it was a lot better than the rating it has received. I feelperhaps that the cast that the movie has is the reason for the filmsoverall rating. I assure any people who are being forced into watchingthis movie for whatever reason, not to worry as whats in store is notthe horror show they might expect but a pleasant surprise of a moviethat they will no doubt enjoy.

Before I begin, I just want to point out two of the most unwanted andunintelligent reviews posted for this film: The first one claimed to bea parent of three. He/she/it claimed that those of us who've postedgood reviews are only lying to you. Also, he/she/it claimed this filmmade it's kids cry and because of that, it's kids "planned on suing"it. Uh-huh. Yes.

The second one: Those "seedy and filthy" places outside "touristhot-spots" are quite accurately depicted. If you'd taken the time toresearch, you'd have discovered this film was almost entirely shot inand around Mexico. "-inhabited by as many Hispanic caricatures as canbe squeezed in." Pardon me but the only caricatures of Hispanics arethe dogs. Well, their voices anyways. They are voiced by MexicanAmericans. The real people, no. How, exactly, are there caricatures?

People really need to pay attention to a film or at least see it beforereviewing.

Anyways, as I stated in my title it is a cute film. The scene withDelgado and Chloe cornered by three mountain lions, only to be rescuedby a large pack of chihuahuas was funny. This film was not deceptive. The trailer, yes. I did expect the film to be more about Papi thanChloe, but still. Very good message to it: be exceptive of others nomatter who they are and from where they come. Each one of us is specialin his/her own way. Open up to others and you'll discover you'll havemore friends. And you might even find the love of your life.

This movie was an excellent adventure movie that has a comedy tonethroughout. People were the secondary or subplot behind the animals. The main human stars Piper Perabo and Jamie Lee Curtis were bothawesome in pulling off their roles and excellent to look at. They weresurpassed only by the large list of stars lending voices to this movie.I have seen this movie 3 times now. Once in the theater with 1grandchild (age 5), who loved it. The second time at the house on DVDwith 6 family members aged 5 to 65 and everyone loved it. The last timethe grandkids played the movie one morning on their own. When thathappens then I know a movie has entertainment value. Now I mayrecognize the actors lending voices to the animals, but I don't believemy 5 or 6 year old grandchildren do. This means they are moreentertained by the movie itself and they even at times pulled for thestar chihuahua named Chloea (Drew Barrymore) a few times.

I rate this movie a strong 8 because of its entertaining value. It alsoisn't just a children's movie. My teen Gchildren watched and enjoyedit. Not every movie has to have an explosion and gunfire every 5seconds. Not every movie needs a monster exploding out of someonesbelly. Not every movie needs a man with a hatchet, chainsaw, ormachete. This movie has a cute story of a dog and its owner separatedand the quest to reunite.
