To start, Daybreakers was a great movie. Easily a 7.5. It had raw, cutand dry blood and guts with a great story to follow.
What stops the movie from going to a 7.5 to an 8, or even a 9, is themovies ability to reach its potential.
The movie has great action scenes, but the first problem with them, isthat they are almost exactly what you see in the trailers for the film. The action in the film wasn't bad by any means, I'm not saying it'sawful, just that it could have used a little more "kick" to it. Thenext downfall of the action, is that it is very short lived. You don'tneed amazing, pulse pounding action to make a great movie, but that'swhere the next flaw of Daybreakers factors in…
This movie could have been so much better if it went deeper into thestory, got to know characters more, and even had some side plots.Normally, movies would have great action scenes to back this flaw up,but as stated before, it misses out on that too. The concept of thestory was a great idea though, the idea of humans being extinct.
Bottom line, Daybreakers was a great movie. It had a good concept, andsome intense moments. It just could have taken more time to reach itspotential.
Daybreakers: 7.5 / 10 KAPOW !
