  1. Leap Year Movie Review Says:

[...] “Leap Year” begins 2010 with a bang in all the wrong ways. Once in a blue moon would we chance on a terrible romantic comedy we just want to get over with such as “Leap Year”. The film focuses on a determined woman’s struggle to get married to the oh-so-perfect guy despite the numerous obstacles in her way. [...]

I just got back from the theater under an hour ago, and am still in agood mood after having watched this. Some romantic comedies are morecomedy than romance, or more romance than comedy, but this one blendsthe two into something especially delightful. I left the theater withmore of a bounce in my step and a wide smile on my face, despite havinghad a not so great day.

It’s not perfectly original–there were parts where I was able to sayahead of time precisely what was going to happen next–but it is notentirely formulaic, either. And there is something comfortable aboutthe familiar, especially if it is done slightly different.

Overall, a great show for the genre. The best I’ve seen in a long time. Not perfect, but if you’re in it for entertainment and a feel-goodstory, rather than as a movie critic, I think you’ll really enjoy it.

Amy Adams is endearing in this roll… My husband and I spent lastweekend seeing Avatar and Sherlock Holmes… This weekend it was timefor something a little more my style, a chick flick. We both enjoyedthis movie very much. It had something for everyone Surprisingly it wasa fun romp across the countryside and it was so enjoyable seeing thesetwo banter and squabble with one another while sensing the chemistrybetween them build and build. I loved the instigating done on the partof the train depot employee…. getting them together, staying at aplace where they had to portray being married… funny stuff! Irecommend everyone who likes to laugh and see a happy ending, go seethis movie :)
