This movie is about 4 animal friends who go to Africa for travel. Theyarrived in Africa by accident because of penguins. While penguins fixtheir airplane, the king of New York, lion, finally meets his parents, and other friends realize that there exist animals which alikethemselves in the world. In other words, they finally return to theirhome.
A way to enjoy this movie is to look at the cute characters. Althoughthey are animals, they behave like humans, and they are very humorouscharacters. Especially, I recommend the character, Moto Moto, which isacted by 'will I am.' There are also new characters such as a blackhair lion, lots of monkey. Additionally, all the musics in this moviemake the movie more funny.
You don't need to worry about this movie. I think that Madagascar 2 isbetter than Madagascar 1. It's because new characters, musics, and theexciting story will make you enjoy this movie. Don't think! Just enjoy!
Well, so far "Madagascar" is two-for-two in the laughs department. Thisis just as good, if not better, than the first film.
It's another good example of the "new" (last 10 years) kind of animatedfeature film that adults can enjoy just as much as the kids. In somecases, perhaps like this one, adults would laugh even more because manyof the gags might over the kids' heads. I'm not talking sexualinnuendos, just references to things older people could recognize.
It isn't just the writing that is excellent; the artwork isspectacular, especially on Blu-Ray. The colors and the detail are justamazing! More than once, my jaw dropped at what I was seeing on the TVscreen. Like the first Madagascar, the high-def images are trulyspectacular.
The combination of humor, drama, family and friendship ties and romanceall make this a wonderful animated movie and the 90 minutes zip by.
What an utter load of silliness! This is by far the worst most boringand meaningless cartoon I 've seen, for both children and adults interms of storyline, action, humor, moral teachings, and overall fun…And I love (good) cartoons…. save your time & don't watch it!
I hated the fact that the characters are not convincing at all. Alsothose impossible and silly things than happen all the time (yes, I knowits a cartoon). Hey, see all kind of silly things that animals do in ajungle with a crashed plane and you'll know what I mean.
I think the people that made that film are completely surreal, but inthe bad-taste side of it. They tried to give these animals humancharacteristics – which is fine – but they completely missed the point.
I give it a four cause the story even made me upset while I waswatching this with my friends!
This movie was so much better than the previous one! We went to seethis one for my 25th birthday because we were in the mood for somelight-hearted entertainment and we really hit the jackpot choosing thismovie! Madagascar 2 is simply hilarious: the crazy and extremelyviolent granny, Moto Moto being too macho for words, the crazy king, the hippo lady being in the mood for some love, the love sorrow of thehypochondriac giraffe (whose voice is being done by ever funny DavidSchwimmer from friends) and the extremely smooth mafia penguins… Thisis just a great movie for young and old. I'm waiting for this one tocome out so I can buy it. The least funny character according to me wasthe lion, but then again I'm not a huge fan of Ben Stiller's comictalents. If you're in the mood for a hell of ride, I advise you to goand see this one. You won't stop laughing from the beginning till theend.

not being a fan of the first movie, i wasn't expecting a lot from thissequel, other than 'cash-in'.
i was very surprised to find that this usurped the original waypossible, and was a lot of fun also, even though Julien was still veryannoying whenever he popped up.
the voice acting is very well done, and the pop-culture references arevery funny and quite intelligent, something that dreamworks have beendoing now for a while to the adults from being bored.
if anything, this could be 'the lion kings' idiotic cousin, as thereare references sprawled along this movie to the Disney classic (songets lost, a bad lion wants to take control as the alpha lion, but withless trauma of course) there are a lot of life lessons as always infilms like this, but they are subtle and short.
the penguins almost steal the show again, but the granny takes creditfor this, as she is probably the nastiest animated non-villain ever.
a good sequel.
We have checked the video, every Madagascar 2 website, Wilkipedia andall movie resources and have not been able to find the answer to thequestion . . "Who did the voices of the penguins?"
My wife says that the "lead" penguin's voice was done by Phil Hartman. But I thought Phil Hartman passed away in 1998. Is she correct or werethey done by other's listed in the cast for their primary roles only?
We understand that there is a new film in the works with the penguinsas the featured stars. Is this true? If "yes", will all of the maincharacters from Madagascar and Madagascar 2 be also included? What isthe release date for this new film and will there be other Madagascarmovies planned for the future?
