As a kid, we believe that all that surrounds us is alive, hoping it israther kind than bad. This movie brings this idea on screen and offersa really fun trip to childhood.

Choosing a museum for this magic to happens is clever because whereelse to find more exotic, frightening, big things to make alive?

I don't have seen so far the first movie so I can't compare. I just cansay that this one makes me discover the huge Smithsonian museums and itshould be a great visit.

If the cast is a good team (with special support for the littleNapoleon because I am french and Alain Chabat is always hilarious), itis a pity that they stay in the shadows (I didn't recognize the actressfrom "Enchanted")! But the big bad guy is rather funny with his hair onhis tongue!

The story could have been also more imaginative with fewer pursuits, but finally, we got a enjoyable family movie, without violence andthat's mean a lot nowadays.

This I must say is Ben Stillers biggest imberresment. I thought he hadchanged after "Tropic Thunder which I enjoyed watching, a lot. Thestory is so cheap, and the jokes are just confusing discussions overand over..Hey I mean the first one was okey, but after 20 times itmight not be as amusing. And Amy Adams, Why..? She is anOscar-nominated actress. I mean How can she act in pictures like these.Just made me mad. And the battle of Smithsonian takes place in theending and it's just so bad. Owen Wilson does a 300immitation, I meanhaven't we seen these parody jokes over and over in Epic, Date ,Disaster "movies" which is so bad I feel like crying.

Please, don't see this movie, maybe your little kid likes it but folksover the age of 12 don't see it!

OK I know this is a silly movie. A sequel to a movie based on the shakypremise that ancient Egyptian magic can bring antiquities to life andthat hostile forces can be tamed by friendship. More than this, BenStiller's Larry has somehow mended his bumbling cowardly ways and hasbecome successful and forceful.

Still there is something here which can only truly be enjoyed if yousee this flick with a child. And that something is a sense of pure fun.In this respect the film is a great success. There are catch-phrases(often meaningless repetitions of the same line), a series of crazywhat-ifs (eg a WWII sailor trying to work out a mobile phone) and afrantic cluttered story line in a similar vein to Jumanji.

Turn off your adult for a while, and enjoy this.

I enjoyed Night at the Museum, but found it somewhat uneven. In parthilarious and at other part not so much.

Sequels are nearly always grossly inferior to the original. This one isabout as good at the first film, perhaps even better.

    It simply hilarious.

Highlights Custer — everything he does including "we are not going toattack now" and "we're Americans, we don't plan". I felt the need topoint out that Custer was a very successful officer during the civilwar, but nay… just sit back and have fun.

Darth Vader and Oscar considered for membership in the leadership ofthe bad guys… and impotently trying to strangle with his mind.

    The Einstein bobble heads.

The sculptures casually walking around in the background.

Pictures that you can go into or water can splash out of.

    I highly recommend this film.

I did puzzle over who was going to clean up the mess left by theexhibits and why did no alarm sound… but it was fun and thats allthat really mattered.

    It was a Bad Story…

I was really upset for this movie. When i listen that Thomas Lennon andRobert Ben Garant would be the writers of this movie , i was sure thatit would be a really funny comedy film. Maybe Thomas Lennon did hisbest with the screenplay , but the story was really bad for a comedyfilm. The biggest problem was that this story hadn't funny parts. Itwas a fantasy-adventure movie, not a comedy movie. That film was areally disappointment.

Ben Stiller and Levy did their best and that was the good part of thismovie.

    Robin Williams ???

Conclusion … The first Night At The Museum was one of the best evercomedies. The second… was a movie for … 6/10

Sequels usually fall into two categories. Ones that are really bad orones that are very good. Night of the Museum 2: Battle of theSmithsonian is the rare occasion of where I like the sequel more thanthe original.

For the money that I paid for it, the movie had everything that I hopedfor in a family comedy/adventure. It has a witty script, which ispacked with one-liners and the constant back-and-forth bickering andthreats the characters hammer against each other which all veryhysterical.

As for the actors themselves, all of them did an amazing job. I'lladmit that Robin Williams is a bit limited in the film, but that's notnecessarily a bad thing. The real genius on screen was Hank Azaria, asthe evil Kahmunrah, who's intent is obvious…rule the world. I couldtell very clearly that he was enjoying himself every moment he was onthe screen. He made me laugh so hard at times that I had to cover mymouth so I didn't disturb the people around me.

As with Ben Stiller, I didn't expect much from him, but he pulls offthe role again as Larry Daley, who is now a successful inventor (whichadds some humor to his character). To me, Ben Stiller, at least withmost of the characters he portrays, always uses anger and frustrationas a means of humor. Sure, that can work with Mel Brooks, but in myopinion, anyone else who tries that technique does not pull it offwell. Stiller does not do this in this film, nor in its prequel, whichis very nice for a change.

As with the visual effects department…wow. I thought the CGI wassplendid in the first one, but this one soars way over it. At timesthough, it seemed a bit too much as if the director wanted to say,"Hey, look at this" and "Now watch this". He felt a bit overdone andsomewhat chaotic in some scenes. Overall, I'm glad I got a chance tosee this movie. I did not have high expectations, but I was provedwrong. This is not the best thing I have seen, but it was well worththe time and money I spent. When it comes out on DVD, I'll be lookingfor it.
