He was a junior artiste. She was a star. For some dreams, one lifetime is not enough.
Om Prakash Makhija is a Junior Artiste in Bollywood, who is infatuated with actress Shantipriya, and hopes to marry her someday. His hopes come to reality when he rescues her from a fire and they go on a date. Shortly thereafter he finds out that she is married to a film producer, Mukesh Mehra, and is expecting his child. He then watches in horror as Mukesh, after luring her in an abandoned studio, sets it afire. Om attempts to rescue her in vain, and he eventually is killed. 30 years later, Om is reborn as the only son of yesteryear Bollywood actor, Rajesh Kapoor, and is himself an actor. His memories start to return when he meets with his widowed mother, Bela, from his previous birth. He also meets with Mukesh and together they decide to make a movie 'Om Shanti Om'. Om then hires a look-alike of Shantipriya, and hopes to force a confession out of Mukesh - but things go awry and Om finds his life endangered once again.

I have never seen a movie where someone the stature of Manoj Kumarslandered the way this movie does. I cannot imagine anyone with someself respect taking this kind of abuse from a neophyte and arrogantfilm maker who has produced one another crap movie and has the audacityand gull to inflict pain and shame to an older Artist. This personshould be barred from the Film Industry for ever. The screen play alsowritten by this child of lesser talent, is cheap and idiotic crapwritten purposely to show the older film makers in extreme bad light. This is no spoof or parody, this is pure, adulterated and blatantinsult. There is nothing in this movie except the All-Star-Cast-Danceensemble-even this was an obvious Box office ploy and greatestfree-loading (credit only no pay) ever in a movie. When I saw thedisgusting parody on Manoj Kumar with the character hiding the face-myfirst thought was this can't possibly be real but it is real. How doesthe older Actors and Film Fraternity accept these two pubescent moronsdo this to them? Have they any self respect left or they have beenconned and spoofed over too? This would never, never happen inHollywood. This is an insult to the whole film industry and as far asManoj Kumar I had great respect for him as Film Maker and a Patriot.Being depicted in this parody or spoof, he has lost his manhood infront of millions of fans who grew up with him.A movie like this iswhat happens when you give money to two makaka monkeys like SRK and FK.They are disgrace to the Indian Film Industry and having showndisrepect to Manoj Kumar, a true Patriot, are a National disgrace. Onlything I can say is few worthless, talentless people, who should not bein the business of making movies, have taken over an IllustriousIndustry and this Industry will never ever be the same.

SUCKSS BIG TIME!
this is got to be the worst Hindi movie i have ever came across. Withtypical SRK movies, the least u expect is a fine performance by himselfin his own style. However, this is a complete different thing.Throughout the movie, he keeps mimicking styles of other heroes andirritates you continuously!!
The direction like hell makes this even unbearable. Don't understandwhy this idiot SRK is so shy to officially take the responsibility ofmis-directing and accept the criticism. You have to make money andentertain crowd, but keep in mind that they have brains! You cant keepthrowing illogically stitched pieces of story onto their faces
The only adorable piece is of course DP, that too less with her acting, and more with her skin..
Go and watch some saas-bahoo soap..don't waste your time for this one..

In this time of highly competitive bollywood, producing a movie like"Om Shanti Om" is nothing but a terrible mistake that affectedreputation of many in the team.
Copying the western style of humour, mocking legendary artists in anunfunny way (not that I'm against imitating artists) and filling up asong with tens of famous film stars could only create the hype for thismovie but the conclusion was very disappointing.
Farah Khan should take the hint and try to improve her direction skillsand completely quit writing. The 6.5 rating as of yet for this movie ismost probably the reason of love towards Shahrukh Khan from his fans.
This movie deserves a 4/10 from me.

Om shanti om was the blockbuster of the year and rightly so. ShahrukhKhan delivers yet another superb performance and is a shame he didn'tget Best actor for this. Deepika is drop dead beautiful and she hastalent, she will do good in the near future. Arjum rampal was alsoquite impressive as the villain of this film. Shahrukh worked hard forthis film gaining a six pack in the process. The songs are lovely inthis film especially Main Agar Kahoon being the best. The movie has itall action, comedy, romance, adventure and supernatural. The best thingabout this is the Deewangi song where there are many superstars in onesong. Salman, Saif, Sanjay Dutt and Shahrukh dancing together is a realtreat. It was great to see Mithun dancing with Shahrukh as well asDharmendra and Jeetendra.

This movie will make you frown, jump on the seat, shout in the moviehall, and throw all kinds of stuff everywhere.. This is simply a PIECEOF SHI/T directly from hell .. I really don't understand what was inthe heads of directors and producers and most important, the actorsthemselves..
one would have hated himself while acting for this movie.. its acomplete waste of time and that too complete 3 hours .. a terriblenonsense movie made without any logical notion .. for non-Indians, thismovie might make you hate the bollywood of India ..
I don't understand how-come some people like this.. can a movie, without any sense and flow, full of idiocy, can impress people withjust branded actors (SRK) and some flowering songs.. don't peopleconsider the storyline ..

I can't figure out who is more dumb? Srk takes audience for granted andFarah will keep making such worthless tributes of 70's films and peoplewill keep going to watch such stuff Sadly this is no MAIN HOON NAAeither which was at least time pass
This film is boring, boring and boring
The spoofs are dull, barring a few scenes most are so badly handledthat you cringe
The first half is lifeless and can put you to sleep There is no storyand no continuity in the film, the tempo keeps slowing down Theinterval point is also childish,
While the second half seems a watered down version of KARZ and fallsflat The sudden revelation to SRK after the song DEEWANGEE looks toosudden and the climax is too stupid
Farah Khan handles the film too badly Music is good, some songs aregood
Performances SHAHRUKH is unbearable here, oh i agree it's a spoof soyou have to overact, but he overacts so badly in both the halves thathe gets to your nerves especially in the drunken scene where he looksgay, He overacts worse in the 2nd half, dual roles are not his cup oftea Deepika shows some sparks in first half but is bad in 2nd halfArjun Rampal is good in parts Shreyas is great Kirron Kher is bad, while Javed Sheikh and the rest are OK
