On March 11 2008, the government sealed off an apartment complex in Los Angeles. The residents were never seen again. No details. No witnesses. No evidence. Until now.
Television reporter Angela Vidal and her cameraman are assigned to spend the night shift with a Los Angeles Fire Station. After a routine 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they find police officers already on the scene in response to blood curdling screams coming from one of the apartment units. They soon learn that a woman living in the building has been infected by something unknown. After a few of the residents are viciously attacked, they try to escape with the news crew in tow, only to find that the CDC has quarantined the building. Phones, internet, televisions and cell phone access have been cut-off, and officials are not relaying information to those locked inside. When the quarantine is finally lifted, the only evidence of what took place is the news crew’s videotape.

A young TV reporter and her cameraman accompany firefighters to anapartment building where a reclusive tenant, an old woman, isapparently in severe distress. The cops are already there, and they allenter her apartment. She is naked and disoriented, and quickly puts thebite on one of her would-be rescuers. When the group tries to exit thebuilding with the stricken man, they find they are locked in. A deadlyvirus apparently is loose in the building, and the government (whichmay have developed the virus in the first place) isn't letting anyoneout. Hence, the movie's title. One by one, other people in the buildingbecome infected and all hell breaks loose. Eventually, everything leadsto an attic apartment where — well, see the movie to find out theanswer to the whole thing. The movie also comes to a dilly of a climax. The amount of blood spilled in this remake of a popular Spanish film isawesome. A grue lover's delight, and very claustrophobic in its feel.Highly recommended.
