I have not seen the first film, so this review is not based on anypreconceptions about how good the first one may have been. in myopinion this is a truly terrible film, i honestly wanted to leave afterthe first half an hour. It looked like it was going to be an awesomegore-fest with lots of scares and screaming etc. it did not deliver atall. a few jumps, but you could see them coming a mile off. the storyis essentially dull with a bit of an exorcist rip off thrown in.

There is nothing of note about it. don't waste your time watching this.i really cant see what audience this caters for. the story is lackingin any kind of substance, the gore is minimal to non existent: justlots of camera shaking so you cant really make out whats going on.

    seriously, go see something else.

Went to see this tonight with my girlfriend. We enjoy horrors. But thiswas one of the worst attempts of a horror i have ever witnessed. It wasa complete mess of screams and shouting and was not in the slightestbit scary, just annoying. It was so loud and shaky at one stage i wasso frustrated i went to the toilet for the 2nd time and not because ihad to use the toilet but because i had to get out of there quick. Thenwhen i came back in a couple walked out with there drinks and popcorn.2 minutes later another couple left. We waited 5 more minutes and bothagreed to get out. What a waste of money and time. We even got the VIPseats for the first ever time just to treat ourselves. What a treat eh!

Had my doubts about this one since I thought the first one was kind ofdisappointing. It was a decent concept, but the hand-held cameraperspective has grown kind of tiresome. Or so I thought. rec 2 iseverything the first film was and then some. It even gives the muchneeded explanations about things you were wondering about in theoriginal. It's still a bit hard to see what's going on at times, but Iguess that's what they were aiming for. The sequel seemed to showimprovement though. That and the way the attacks are edited at times(especially when Martos is attacked at the beginning of the film)really made the sequel seem like an improvement over the first film.Being locked in that apartment building a second time gives us a chanceto revisit that sense of claustrophobia established from the firstfilm. Given the ending of this one though, things should really getinteresting if and when a rec 3 is made.

blown away? scared? edge of my seat? yup this movie ticks all thefreaking boxes!! wow what a nightmare journey, takes off where thefirst movie left off. first movie was very good, this one looks like ithad a bit more backing and a bit more cash, and as a consequence is aheck of a lot better without taking away from the first…you don'thave to seen the first don't worry, it's like a scene setter to thishorror masterpiece…so it's in the style of cloverfield, diary of thedead etc… but it's just relentless and never pauses for breath, takesyou down some spooky avenues and sojourns, and leaves you gasping! fourrotten thumbs and a severed head up!

Comparable to the first, with some little moments of tension workedaround the fact that you already think you know what’s in store, andyet also making it’s own mark with a blend of memorable moments andinteresting ideas. Job well done.

See this if you like: [*Rec], Cloverfield, Quarantine.
