Jigsaw appears to be on the loose again- after another grisly murder inhis style is uncovered. But everything is not as it seems and thingsget more complicated when a new series of victims are selected, on thebasis of them squandering gifts they were blessed with on their owngain. Two detectives start to close in on the twisted madman- but arethey as clean cut as they seem?

From the off set it's pretty clear to see the plot to no less than thefifth instalment of the grisly Saw franchise is just a little bitpiecemeal to say the least. The gross, stomach churning torture/murdersequences are in abundance too, to the point where it helps just tolaugh at how blood lettingly outrageous they become.

It's always best to leave it at three, but this franchise has become sofrequent you can count on a sixth one later this year. *

The story , although still a bit jumpy, was a lot less complicated than4. Some people may disagree saying it lacked depth and it was justAgent Strahm talking the plot. However, even if this is the case istill thought it deserved more credit than what it got.

The acting was pretty good. I liked Scott Paterson (Agent Strahm). Iliked his character and he played it well. He was my favouritecharacter and it was good he got a chance to shine. Some of the actingin the fatal five trap was awkward but not to bad.

The traps were my favourite of the series.

The only downside for me was the predictable twist(if you can call it atwist). It definitely leaves it open for 6.

Still many of the hardcore Saw fans like me will be pleased.

Which I think is a good thing. There's a limit to what you can show,without completely dulling your audience. Which would of course be abad thing. So the thriller/crime aspect, is bigger here. While I likethe fact, that it does have a continuous storyline, some viewers mightbe appalled that they actually have to remember or even have seen theprevious movie to get some of the things shown in the movie. Of coursea few flashbacks do help out, but it's always better to have the othermovies in mind.

I didn't quite like the ending, but the movie leaves quite a few thingsopen again, so I will be there for part 6, to see where this is going…

Do you have to watch the earlier movies in order to understand Saw 5?YES!!! You really should, or you'll be totally lost throughout thismovie.

The movie starts with a very interesting trap and ends with anothertrap. It's also sad that Hoffman didn't get what he deserves.

The main problem in Saw 5 was the huge amount of flashbacks. Yeah, beready, because this movie is 45% flashback( the opening scene is aflashback). The "twist" isn't as good as the one seen in Saw 1 and 2.However, I was glad they focused more story, instead of torture( Saw 3anyone?). Of course, there are even more questions to be answered, soyou can expect a Saw 6 sooner or latter.

My vote is a solid 7.

Dialogue:I just can not remember dialogs from the 4-th part ,but I canremember 5 sentences from this part,one of the most important sentenceof the film,and of the film history is about what means to killsomebody,(from the killers side.) So this sentence is all the way a newgood idea,against it was a crime,horror,thriller movie,with mystery,nowyou are interested more like in the 4-th part.

The characters isn't only about how they will die,,what they did,thereis a question why are they here ?Can they help for each other?(If theyunderstand what is the situation) Less boring gore,rather suffering,andcharacter study,and another movie focusing to the main character,andhe's personality.

6/10-better than the 4-th part,but not as good as the first,and the3-th part.

I always fear seeing the next installment every year. I fear that thenext one will be terrible and will ruin the whole series. Luckily thishas not happened yet. Saw V wasn't the best Saw but it ranks nicely inthird place in the series. Coming up behind Saw II and IV. This is myorder…IV-II-V-I-III

Unlike the other sequels Saw V doesn't have blood and gore every 10seconds. It is nicely set out apart. But when the blood and gore doescome it is very graphic and makes the squeamish cringe in there seats.Saw I wasn't too big on the gore. Saw II took it to the next level andmade the gorno fans cheer. Saw III took the fans need for blood andwent way over the top. Saw IV went to the next level in blood but heldout on the gore. Saw V showed us that the movie does not have to beblood and guts all the time to be good. None of the Saw movies everscared me but this time i actually jumped for the first time in a Sawmovie.

The acting was like every other Saw movie, Average and i don't expectit to ever reach Oscar worthy in a Saw movie. Tobin Bell was good likealways. Costas Mandylor and Scott Patterson did good jobs also. Ialways know the plot of every Saw movie. It's always the usual, peopleget put in traps and have to get out alive. But there is always themain plot in every movie. After the events in Saw IV, Detective Hoffmangoes on a hunt to eliminate all loose ends. Special Agent Strahmsuspects Hoffman and goes on a hunt to find out his secret. Thisdoesn't seem like it can fill up a whole 90 minutes but like always weget answers to questions from other movies through flashbacks. As wellas new questions to keep you excited till the next installment.

The Saw series feels like a TV show. You just can't wait till the nextepisode to see what happens next. Saw V felt like a lead up to the bigfinale where all the Sh*t will hit the fan. I just hope Saw VI willwrap up the series in a major twist. If this doesn't happen then theentire series will feel like a waste of time. See Saw V if your a fanof the series. You know you want to. I'm counting down the days tillSaw VI. But while i'm waiting i'll give you my rating….

Hello (your name here)… I want to play a game…

There is always some device that these fools wear and they basicallyget killed trying to get out of the device or room because there isalways some key that they have to get in order to escape.

One guy manages to survive "the game" and typically obsesses about thedeparted Jigsaws story just like the other "protagonists" in the fourprevious sequels and makes the same mistakes they made.

Same thing over and over again. But the Saw series is like a fart Ilike to keep on smelling. I just can't get enough of it. I almost don'tmind killing my brain cells with this story that tries way too hard tobe a murder mystery. It is already given who the killers are and thisinstallment feels like busy work for the main plot in itself.

What's next? Do we see more flashbacks on what Jigsaw likes to eat forbreakfast? Or how about some trivial B.S. about Agent Hoffman? More"rehabilitation"?

I am going to predict that Saw 6 is going to be like the other Saw'swith more traps, more keys, more double-crossing cops, and that samejingle with a "game over" in the end. But maybe we will see aconclusion this time. No more Saw after that.

This is a series that gets spat out to the public way too fast and theaudience doesn't really have time to savor the sequels.

Over all, this film isn't entirely flawed, but I wasn't really movedlike I was in the first one. I only recommend it if you want to connectthe dots with the story.
