The Dark Knight was without a doubt the best summer blockbuster of 2008and I can see why a lot of people like it. The Dark Knight is afantastic movie because it has a great blend of everything. There'splenty of romance, action, drama, violence, the list just goes on andon. There are only two things that bother me about The Dark Knight. Thefirst thing is Maggie Gyllenhall may or might not be attractive but inThe Dark Knight her face looked like it was melting that's how bad itis. The second thing is that even though Christan Bale is the bestactor to play Batman he's still not that great. But pretty mucheveryone deliver's great performances and Heath Ledger really makes themovie which I was surprised at since before The Dark Knight I neverreally thought much about him. The Dark Knight is also a lengthy movieand towards the end you start to feel its length which might turn youoff or hurt the experience you have with it

Simply an incredible movie! This film is much better than "BatmanBegins" and it's easily my favorite Batman movie of all time. Eventhough this film is over two and a half hours, I found myself eagerlyanticipating every scene in this film!

This movie is very dark, brave and bold. It's refreshing NOT to seeyour generic CGI special effects, making all the action sequencessensational and authentic! The IMAX sequences were breathtaking and Iwas privileged to have seen this film on the giant screen. I even hadto catch a 6:20am performance just to watch it in IMAX on opening day, which BTW was a sell-out! As for the late Hedge Ledger; he has ahaunting, yet brilliant & unforgettable performance as the Joker.Watching this film on IMAX was one of my favorite movie experiencesI've ever had, and it's easily the BEST summer movie of 2008!

(but then again how many people have not seen this movie yet?)

This movie really doesn't belong in the top 250? Its kind of a problemwith IMDb. The first popular film that hits the box office. What doesit do? It Skyrockets to the top 250. Now I had looked forward to thismovie for a while. I really enjoyed Batman Begins, and saw all of theother Batman films. (which of those only Batman 1 with Jack Nicholsonis worth watching). But it was just too long, often the storylinerelied solely on the special effects, and it just wasn't even thatengaging. Great acting from Heath Ledger though,he is amazing. I feltBatman was very weak in this film as a character, compared to BatmanBegins. The Joker really dominated the entire film, not leaving muchroom for Batman to be a very good character. During the scenes whereBatman was in the film he spoke in a growl. Yes I know this wasintended but it sounded ridiculous and was not very menacing norintimidating. Christian Bale was okay as Batman in this movie, but hisperformance was really dwarfed by that of Heath Ledger's. MorganFreeman was great as he almost always is. Best acting in the whole film(well besides Heath Ledger). Maggie Gyllenhall was extremely mediocre, and I found myself not identifying with her character at all. GaryOldman was alright. Michael Caine was good, but I have seen him dobetter (Secondhand Lions, he was also better in Batman Begins). AaronEckhart was very competent at playing his characters (both two-face andHarvey Dent). But it was pretty unbelievable how brutal he turned outto be. That scene where he was in the hospital and looked at the cointhat had half its side burned just like his his face was very well donethough. But I found some scenes in the movie to be poorly done. Thescene right before the hospital where Harvey and Rachel were stuck inthe building wasn't very good. The scenes with the Joker in the prison,The scenes with Batman on the motorcycle. Also the scene with the twoships at the end was way to long, very far-fetched, and really just apretty bad scene over all. This movie wasn't so disappointing that Iwould ask you not to watch it, it's probably worth watching if you likeBatman. But I do ask you to not blindly fall for the hype and to seethe faults in this film. Thank-you.

The Dark Knight is the best super hero film of 2008. Iron Man was good,The Incredible Hulk was pretty good, but this film just surpasses bothof them. This film has gone where no super hero film has gone before. It is surely Oscar worthy and deserves a lot of recognition for it'shigh quality effects and stunts.

The cast is great. Christian Bale was born to play Batman, and HeathLedger…where do I even start. He is excellent as the Joker, reallyfreaky and scary and destructive, just as I pictured him in the NolanBatman film series. Aaron Eckhart was also good as Two-Face, beatsTommy Lee Jones by a lightyear. I also enjoyed Gary Oldman as JamesGordan, he is breathtakingly awesome! This film also brings fate tosome of the characters, has you at the edge of your seat at times, andis overall a suspenseful and action-packed film that is worthy of lotsof awards. Like the joker would say, It's all part of the plan!

The Dark Knight is just Batman with a new name, but it still betterthan all other superheroes.

This movie features an all star cast of Christian Bale, Heath Ledger,Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckheart, and Morgan Freeman who all give fantasticperformances and do their best not to overact.

What makes this different from other superhero movies is its not forkids only. "The Dark Knight" deals with many mature issues and hasextreme situations that might not be suitable for kids.(The PG-13rating doesn't seem suitable.) Everything in the movie is creepy, suspenseful, dramatic, and extremely likable.

This is the perfect movie for Batman, DC, and superhero fans alike.

  6. minorfifth-1 Says:

    This film is basically average.

NONE of the performances in this film are anything worth getting overexited about. Heath Ledger's performance was good. It wasn't amazing,it wasn't even great. Just like Ian Curtis his death did him the worldof good. I'm not saying he wasn't a capable actor; I'm simply saying hewasn't anything special.

Have we reached an age where licking your lips and snuffling isregarded as 'a performance that should earn him every award known toman'?

He is only regarded as being so super good because he's dead – simpleas that.

Watch Tim Burton's Batman, it's a better film.

I really liked this movie. The thing i enjoyed most is how we seen thejoker more than batman. The joker played by Heath ledger was excellent.HE did a magnificent job playing his part. The joker who int theoriginal cartoon was a crazy but very smart villain. I believe this isgoing to be the best someone has ever and will ever play the joker. Theoverall movie was great. I mean a lot of the past batman movies were awhole bunch of action and not to much thinking. Batman is known for hisdetective type mind and figuring out things. This movie bought that tous. A lot of times i thought one thing was going to happen andsomething completely different happened. Thas what i like most is thebeing so unpredictable.

this is without a doubt the best movie made from a comic strip. itcaptures the scenic darkness that is inherent to Gotham city and theway the story is presented is so remarkable as everything can beconnected to the main character, thereby exploring the other importantcharacters. Every character is linked and exposed in a profound mannerthe identity of batman and his arch nemesis, joker, through theirseveral collisions in every scene illustrate a noteworthy point on whothey are. this action packed thriller is a masterpiece of cinema whereideals and rapid action work together very well. the acting was of topnotch especially that of heath ledger. he was so fluent with the jokerthat it seemed the comic had been given life. this second film in theseries compliments batman begins on so many levels and expands upon itmaking it an ideal sequel.

ps: i thought that this film should have won the Oscar for the bestfilm of the year but i was in shock to hear it was not even nominated.
