Feel it June 5
Angelenos Doug Billings and Tracy Garner are about to get married. Two days before the wedding, the four men in the wedding party - Doug, Doug's two best buddies Phil Wenneck and Stu Price, and Tracy's brother Alan Garner - hop into Tracy's father's beloved Mercedes convertible for a 24-hour stag party to Las Vegas. Phil, a married high school teacher, has the same maturity level as his students when he's with his pals. Stu, a dentist, is worried about everything, especially what his controlling girlfriend Melissa thinks. Because she disapproves of traditional male bonding rituals, Stu has to lie to her about the stag, he telling her that they are going on a wine tasting tour in the Napa Valley. Regardless, he intends on eventually marrying her, against the advice and wishes of his friends. And Alan seems to be unaware of what are considered the social graces of the western world. The morning after their arrival in Las Vegas, they awaken in their hotel suite each with the worst hangover. None remembers what happened in the past twelve or so hours. The suite is in shambles. And certain things are in the suite that shouldn't be, and certain things that should be in the suite are missing. Probably the most important in the latter category is Doug. As Phil, Stu and Alan try to find Doug using only what little pieces of information they have at hand, they go on a journey of discovery of how certain things got into the suite and what happened to the missing items. However they are on a race for time as if they can't find Doug in the next few hours, they are going to have to explain to Tracy why they are not yet back in Los Angeles. And even worse, they may not find Doug at all before the wedding.

in years one of the best comedies I've seen from American soil, no dumbboom bangs, no dumb teenagers, no dumb stars, actually spoken word andthis is done very well.. I've been to see this in theater and everybodylaughed..
don't mind me wrong, but this is almost a story for X-files, as usuallyif I'm trying to attend a movie, which was described as "comedy" mostof the people are turning their heads and don't believe, how dumb youmust be laugh at it..
so people, go for it, its worth trying, you wont be disappointed, youactually find out yourself laughing..
I give it a solid 9, a bigsurprise for me..

The Hangover does seem like an unoriginal concept with people partyingto much and waking up with no memory of their previous night. Thismovie takes a predictable concept and turns it into a raunchy, goofy, and utterly hilarious 100 minutes of fun.The Hangover differs fromother R-rated comedies like a Judd Apatow film because this moviemostly doesn't revolve on sexual humor and saying WTF? every fiveseconds. It's a lot different from comedies like Superbad because TheHangover takes the littlest jokes and makes them 10x funnier. It'sstill has jokes about sex, drugs, and alcohol, but the way itsdisplayed in this movie is new and original.
The casting for this movie was just no short of perfect. Thecombination of Bradley Cooper(playing the calm, cool, and collectedhigh school teacher Phil), Ed Helms(the uptight dentist Stu who mustlie to his own wife in order to have fun), and Zach Galifinakis(playingthe scary, strange misfit) is just hysterical. When these three cometogether to find their missing pal Doug, theirs no stopping the laughs.Cooper and Helms are good, but Galifinakis steals the show with greatone-liners and goofy humor. The idea of adding Ken Jeong and Mike Tysonwas just genius, and all of the supporting actors are great.
People expecting a non-stop laugh fest might be pleased, and othersmight be happy, but fans of Apatow wont be.
(One more thing: Wait till the credits. There's a hilarious montage ofparty photos u gotta see)

The Hangover centers around four friends and their attempt tounderstand the events of the previous night. Doug is getting marriedand he and two of his friends Stu, who is henpecked, and Phil, whodoesn't appreciate what he has, are going to celebrate his bachelorparty in Las Vegas. Alan, Doug's annoying soon to be step brother, wants to tag along and Doug says it's okay much to the chagrin of Stuand Phil. The four toast on the roof of their hotel and the next thingthey know they are waking up without any idea of what happened thenight before and they can't find Doug. Stu, Alan, and Phil must figureout what happened and find Doug before his wedding later that day.
The plot of The Hangover is much more original and complex than mostcomedies. The fact that they have to figure out what happened with whatthey find makes for an interesting almost backward telling of thestory. They and the audience are given the end result and both have tofigure out what led up to it. It's also fun because you get to find outwhat everything means as the characters do. Another really amazingaspect of The Hangover was the amount of jokes they would cram intoeach scene. Whether they were funny or not every scene would just havejoke after joke.
All the characters are funny and interesting in their own way. ZachGalifianakis' performance as Alan is one of the best break out comedyperformances I have ever seen. Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper also dogreat in both of their first big roles. Even the minor characters thatonly get a few lines manage to squeeze some comedy out of their verysmall roles, which is another thing that sets this apart from othercomedies.
I was somewhat disappointed in the ending however. I found it to be abit predictable and a tad too perfect. Rarely will a comedy have a goodending though, so that isn't a big deal.
So in short, The Hangover is not only one of the best movies of 2009,but one of the best comedies ever.

The Hangover is summer's best film! I won't go into details about thefunny parts because if you are one of the few people who still haven'tseen it, words just won't do this film justice. I will, however, givekudos to those involved in making this movie.
Primarily, the film works as a result of a brilliant narrative device:we are just as clueless as the characters are about what happened thenight before. As the film progresses, we are given one shockingrevelation after another, each building to high comedy. The momentum isalmost non-stop!
A lot of the humor is also generated from the corky characters and howthey react to each shocking development. Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms andZach Galifianakis all turn in brilliant performances and stay incharacter rather than just acting goofy. The fact that they all seem sobelievable makes the chaos that they face all the more hysterical.
Laughter is valuable to your health and it is hard to produce aneffective comedy these days. Anyone who needs to laugh is well servedby seeing this movie; even if you don't need a laugh: see this movie!!

Funniest movie I've ever seen!!! The quote above is just one of manyfrom this movie!! There are enough one liners to quote for the rest ofthe year! Well, at least according to everyone at my school. Ha ha ha!Mike Tyson even made me laugh, and not at him this time. Ed Helms is athis best for sure here! I have nothing against "My Best Friend'sWedding" but how can you compare those two movies!?!
The end was the best part though. My girlfriend's face was so red fordays from laughing so hard!!!! And the bachelor party in the movie wasso much better than the ones I've been to in real life!! That is prettysad though, so take it for what you will. Most importantly, if you donot see this movie, you will have no idea what everyone is talkingabout!
