Michael Winterbottom's film about a killer who also happens to be a lawenforcement officer in 1950's Texas is a huge let down.Casey Affleckplays Lou Ford, a seemingly polite Deputy Sheriff in a small town. Thereality is that he is psychopath who is willing to use violence onwomen.

This film is an empty peace of crap.None of the characters areconvincing, all seem to act in an illogical way.It has two shockingpieces of violence that are gratuitous in the extreme.I had two covermy face to avoid seeing some scenes. Great supporting actors like NedBeatty and Elias Koteas are wasted. The two female stars Kate Hudson andJessica Alba are given hardly anything to do except………

An empty nasty film not worth the time of day.Can this be the samedirector who made Welcome to Sarajevo?

I was personally highly disappointed with the narrative. The screenplayseemed to betray the strong of of Affleck, forgetting to let thecharacter in Ford's head. Ford is psychotic, and therefore a unreliablenarrator. It isn't until the final scene that this is even remotelyshown. As it is the script only comes off as shallow.

Still Affleck gives a fine performance, and we probably have Hudson'sbest work in almost a decade, or at least since The Skeleton Key. Albabrings very little to the role, but her performance isn't necessarilybad either. It just is.

The Killer Inside Me isn't necessarily a terrible film, and it not afilm to avoid by means, but it certainly isn't anything to rush out tosee. Part's of it are certainly worth while, most notably the scenestowards the middle of the film.
