[...] The Last Exorcism film proved to be a real demon at the box office this weekend even if the Takers may end up at the finish line beating Exorcism for the crown. After Sunday’s studio estimates, the two movies were neck to neck with just about a difference of $300,000 between them. When the final numbers are released by Monday, then it could be the Takers that would be on the lead. Both film performed well compared to what is expected to be its output. Thankfully there are still the horror fans who made it achieve a total of $21.3 million opening on a total of 2,874 screens. According to reports, Lionsgate productions got it for a little less than a million dollars and spent about $16 million more for its promotion. The film is really a disturbing tale about a girl played by Ashley Bell who is believed to be possessed by Satan. Her father played by Patrick Fabian will do everything to save his daughter’s soul even if it would require to kill her.
