Acting, script whatever you can think of in a movie, it does not workwell in this at all. First of all the humour is very out dated & alsoSteve Martin was the only thing is this movie which sorta even stoodout, he tried his best but there wasn't much that could save this fromfalling apart. You really need to be in a very positive mood or haveyour brain switched of to enjoy this. The worst thing in this movie wasAishwarya Rai, this chick can't act one bit, very pathetic & her accentso fake & annoying. OK the positive thing in this was that Steve Martinis a one man show, so if you like him as an actor, you will like a fewof the scenes. Overall very weak plot & cheap acting 3 / 10

This film is an insult to Sellars!! And proof that Steve Martin hasfinally lost his way completely. From start to end it relies onhorrible slapstick and obvious jokes. With forced comedy that at nostage seems that any of the cast even find it funny! Steve Martin trieshis hardest to force his acting through, but the whole film i couldn'thelp but feel he was doing just that 'forcing' it on me. He relies toomuch on a stupid accent and lacks all the charm and wit Sellars broughtto the role. The array of talent on display seems only a lure to getpeople to watch the film and little more than a paycheck to such comedylegends as John Cleese! Who surely should know better than just to makea small appearance in one of the worst films of the year!! Overall, iwould advise avoiding this film if you have any comedy sense at all!!!The very best i could say, is that if you are with young children, theymay find a few laughs in the obvious slapstick.

As time progresses, it is only natural that cultural and sociallandscapes change whether for the better or worse. This is why it isnot uncommon for feature films to be re-made or re-booted from theground up in order to accommodate this change in perspective—to offeran old classic to be appreciated by a younger generation of film-goers.Yet it is no surprise that only the a select few of such ventures everachieve anything more than a pale parody of a work far superior toitself. The reasoning is simple in that a film is just as much aproduct of its own time as it is a product of its creators—taking amovie such as The Pink Panther and transposing it into the currentcinematic climate didn't work years back because the elements inherentto the original simply do not translate to modern techniques. Theresult was a feature that sporadically enticed new and old viewers buttoo often neglected to bring anything of value to the table. Theformula was old, and the teachers were lacking the grace and knowledgeof their source material that was needed to pull off the job.

Now, before you go thinking this is a review of the original PinkPanther movie (well, I say, original, but I mean the original re-make)please be aware that I make this parallel first and foremost becausethis follow-up instalment is in every way just as pointless. In fact, there is more than enough evidence to argue that Pink Panther 2 is evenmore redundant than its predecessor for the simple fact that the exactsame tired plot devices, comic angles and banal characterization isutilized here as it was a couple of years back. Of course, the plotthis time around is slightly altered in order to somewhat justify theperpetuating existence of this already dead horse, but even so there isa distinct lack of substance inherent to anything on display here. Wehave the Tornado, we have Clouseau, we have the Pink Panther and wehave a mystery brimming with overt slapstick and perfunctory romance;this is Pink Panther 2.0 by the numbers and there is very little herethat separates it from the forgettable nonsense that came before. Andyes, this was essentially the central characteristics of earlierPanther movies, but with one key difference; the jokes were funny;hilarious, even.

To say that Steve Martin's second outing as Clouseau is without itscharm however is something of an undersell—Pink Panther 2 does have afair share of amusing segments spliced in between its morecommon-denominator humour (much of the better scenes involve thebumbling detective's attraction to his secretary and colleagues), andthere are moments where Martin actually begins to separate himself fromSellers' original portrayal which comes off a little sharper thanbefore. Yet burdened with this constant urge to resort to tired, utterly brainless farce that usually goes nowhere, Pink Panther 2 ismore miss than hit. Yes, if your favourite joke from the first moviewas the "hamburger" gag, or perhaps you enjoy people falling off thingsrandomly with little to no context to build up such moments, then yes,you will probably laugh yourself silly. For the rest of us however, this outing for detective Clouseau is just as predictable and mundaneas you probably expected the moment you heard that there was a sequelin the making; entertaining at times, but too much time is spentchasing after arbitrary artifacts rather than the crown jewel. Theresult? An uneven, mostly forgettable experience that begs the same oldquestion once more: why even bother? – A review by Jamie Robert Ward(http://www.invocus.net)

When i heard there was going to be another Pink Panther film, i thoughtgood i hope they have a funny actor to play Clouseau not that Has beenMartin who was once funny in the 80's with the film "The Jerk".

They need a natural talent for comedy, like Sacha Baron Cohen who canbe believed as a French man. Or even one better why not the talentedJean Reno i mean he is French after all. Of course that didn't happenand no one had the GUTS to tell poor Martin. He is so wrong for thisCharacter.

As for the funny man John Cleese as Chief Inspector Dreyfus who is alsoa French Character with a Very English accent i noticed at least KevinKline attempted to speak French in the first film. Cleese looked andplayed bored. As for the other cast members Garcia, Molina, YukiMatsuzaki and Aishwarya Rai they did their best with what they had towork with.

The story is, Yes there is a Plot, somewhere amongst this excuse towaste another 50 to a 100 million instead of giving the money to acharity where it could do some good by feeding the poor instead offeeding actors and Director's Ego and producing this dribble.

The Pink Panther was stolen again they form a dream team which is morelike a nightmare a excuse to throw some good actors together or giveless lines to Martin as he has nothing funny to say.————SPOILER ALERT———————— Clouseau has a onagain off again romance with Nicole(Emily Mortimer) who i thought doesa good job from both films to get some comedy in her scenes only to beover shadowed by Martin standard over used Hamburger lines.

No Kato again, Ponton has wife problems and stays at Clouseau's placebringing his two sons in the form two pint size pains ready to AttackClouseau to keep him alert or just to burn up more screen time.

2 points for the scenery Paris looks good at night and Day but like thefilm wasted.

I'm not sure what other people's idea of comedy is maybe just danglinga bunch of keys in front of them like you would to a infant to get asmile is all you need. For me its creative writing, timing and talentand this film has none of these. Watch the early Panther films and youwill appreciate Real Genius its not the name of the actor its aboutCharacter in the film. SELLERS you feel for you want him to win becausehe made you care, Martin comes across as a pushy car sales person, whoyou just want to run away from, have our standards sunk that low.

I hope Mr Steve Martin does read this because i enjoyed his early workbut someone needs to be honest and tell him to leave the Panther Filmsto a better suited actor, If that happens then we will have a PinkPanther Franchise for the future as for now i doubt if there will be athird film.
