Spying is easy, babysitting is hard.
Former CIA spy Bob Ho (Chan) takes on his toughest assignment to date: looking after his girlfriend's three kids, who haven't exactly warmed to their mom's beau. And when one of the youngsters accidentally downloads a top-secret formula, Bob's longtime nemesis, a Russian terrorist, pays a visit to the family.

You need not be a genius to figure out this opposites attract epic isgoing to conclude with everybody in each other’s arms. Children underseven years of age may applaud this nonsense, but adult Jackie Chanfans are going to cringe watching him replay old routines and wear apair of glances that may him look incredibly nerdy. The villains emergeas the most interesting aspect about “The Spy Next Door.” The CIA andChinese Intelligence find themselves pitted against Russiansterrorists. Well, they may neither be Soviets and we no longer live inthe age of the Cold War, but if you did not know any better you wouldthink that the filmmakers have forgotten that the Russians are ourallies. The two top Russian terrorists that give Jackie a hard time arecast in the Boris and Natasha mode from the venerable cartoon show”Rocky and Bullwinkle Show” where Boris and Natasha were a pair ofdevious Soviet espionage agents. Jackie Chan’s American-made movies, with the exception of the “Rush Hour” trilogy and the two “Shanghai”westerns “Shanghai Noon” and “Shanghai Knights.”
